Lily's Adventure
Hi! My name is Lily and I am going to tell you a Food Network experience that happened to my two sisters and I. So, we were at Macy's in Chicago eating lunch in the Wallnut Room and suddenly we heard a loud speaker say, "Attention all Macy's shoppers, Iron Chef Cat Cora will be presenting her latest recipes down in the lower level and she will also have a book signing after the presentation. Thank you." So after we finished eating we raced down to the lower level. She was just starting. She also had some helpers passing out some of her dishes such as her new caesar salad, some of her new scallops, etc. Then afer the presentation we got in line for the book signing with our Cat Cora books! The line was huge! We also bought a book for our Nana. Then we finally got to meet Cat Cora! She was so nice! Se gave us each a high five and a hug! It was so nice to meet Cat Cora! Now we also went to Candace Nelson's Cupcake bakery called Sprinkels Cupcakes! I got a red velvet cupcake! But I wish I could have met Candace!

Libby's Adventure
Hi,my name is Libby. I went to South Carolina for spring break this year and had a lot of fun. I had a lot of fun doing everything, but my favorite activity was being on the beach by the water and seeing all the creatures living in the ocean. I went on a boat to search for dolphins and saw a lot of them. I also saw sharks, jellyfish, sea turtles, pelicans, crabs and more in the water! I saw a mommy alligator and her babies in our backyard. I was very careful though because I did not go near her. My family saw so many creatures and loved the ocean. We had a blast and I hope my family and I can go again next year!!!!!!!
Halley's Adventure
On my spring vacation my family went to Springfield Ill, St. Louis and Chicago. When we went to St. Louis we went up in the Arch. We had to wait for a while to get up to the top. We took a really weird elevato. It was all white and it had 5 seats. The elevator was about 4 feet tall and 6 or 7 feet across. There were sounds coming from it. I was scared. Auden said,“I heard some body died by riding this elevator." My brother Brendan said, “Why would you say that?” He said, “If we get stuck we will eat Halley first.”
I shouted “WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” But when we got to the top the inside was rusty but the outside was beautiful! I had so much fun in St. Louis!

Lake Traford by Jack B.
Hi. I am Jack B. I went to Lake Traford for an air boat tour. We saw alligators, snakes, very awesome birds, fish and water bugs. My favorite part was when I saw a really big snake. Her name was Rachel. She was 32 feet long. She is a boa with black skin and white spots. I hope you get to go there someday.
Point Du Hoc by Drew T.

In France, we visited Point Du Hoc. Point Du Hoc was a part of the D-Day operation where the US Rangers climbed up the cliff and invaded the German bunkers. The bomb craters were huge, and I could imagine the bombs dropping from the sky. In the German bunkers it was cool seeing where the Germans must have stood to try to shoot the US Rangers. Also, it was also cool seeing where the Germans slept and where they ran their operations from. I'm so glad on D-Day that the US Rangers won so they could stop the Germans from taking over everything in Europe. On the day we visited, there were some real US Rangers visiting Point Du Hoc just like us. I thought the bunkers at Point Du Hoc were very interesting.
Drew C.'s Adventure
Over spring break, Drew visited his grandparents and great-grandma in Midland, visited his cousins (Grace and Lauren -- attached) in Detroit, came back to Grand Rapids for a few days of fun, Jersey Junction and eating out at El Burrito, then back to Dearborn to visit his other grandparents.
Speedy accompanied him on all of these adventures.

Mexican Silver Mine by Mrs. A.
I visited a silver mine in Guanajuato, Mexico. We followed our guide deep under the ground. He showed us specks of shiny stuff in the walls of the tunnel. The specks were silver, gold, and copper. We had to wear hard hats in case rocks fell on us or in case we hit our heads on the low ceilings of the tunnels. Afterwards, we saw some of the beautiful rocks that come from mines. Aren't they beautiful?
